PIGNICCERS INFO:

At the Australian Cavy Sanctuary ‘Pignic in the Park’ the 'Pignic' will be hosted in a designated area on the same premises. The Pignic premesis will be monitored by ACS Staff as required.


Please Note: ACS is guinea pig rescue organisation and we ask that their be no sales of live animals at the event. The organisation does not support the regular breeding or backyard breeding of guinea pigs nor the placement of guinea pigs in pet shops. If breeders wish to attend the event we ask that talk of breeding or showing not be spoken of or advertised at the event. ACS reserves the right to ask people to leave the event who may not choose to follow the above guidelines.

What to Bring checklist

  • A playpen or cage for your guinea pigs. (optional lock or lid for your cage for extra protection)

  • Picnic Blanket and/or Chairs

  • Umbrella or Pop-up Shade (in the case of rain or heat)

  • Your guinea pigs

  • Decorations for your guinea pig play pen

  • Sunscreen

  • Food and Water for your guinea pigs (cold water can be purchased on the day from the ACS BBQ stall if needed)

  • Your family and a smile!

BEST DECORATED FLOWER POWER CAGE OR PLAYPEN

Cost: FREE

Don't forget to bring your creativity! Winner will be announced on the day for the best decorated playpen and a fantastic prize given!

You can include your guinea pigs in the setup.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION FOR YOUR GUINEA PIGS

In 2009 members of the public were misled to believe that their was a guinea pig fancy dress competition on the day. We are proud to announce that this year their WILL BE a fancy dress competition for you and your guinea pig/s. An announcement will take place during the day for this event. Prizes will be announced for the winner of the fancy dress competition and runner up ribbons awarded.

NOTE - Please be cautious of your guinea pigs happiness and safety when planning your fancy dress display. Guinea pigs that appear to be in distress or unhappy due to their fancy dress will be removed from the competition.

GUINEA PIG FOOD EATING COMPETITION! (Traditional feature of the day)

Cost: $1 donation per entry.

Keeping with Pignic tradition a MASSIVE Guinea Pig food eating competition will take place on the day. Make sure your guinea pig is ready to munch away on lots of yummy vegetables! The guinea pig that eats the most in the quickest time for each round will go through to the final round where the top three will compete to win their award and prize.

SAC RACES

Cost: FREE

Another great tradition of the ACS 'Pignic in the Park' is the all age hessian bag sac races!  Prizes and award ribbons up for grabs!

 

KIDS COLOURING FUN!

Cost: FREE

The kids colouring stall provides free fun. The kids can take home their guinea pig colouring pages or colour in at the stall.
