Rex can come in any colour. The rex cavy has a course coat that should be short yet thick and dense all over and that stands up giving a harsh wirey looking appearance. A rex is groomed/brushed from the rump towards the head rather than the other way round. This method of grooming helps the coat to stand up giving it's spiky, rough appearance.
