Abyssinian

The " Abby " is a course coated guinea pig and can come in any colour combination. The coat is 1 and a half inches in length and consists of 8 " rosettes " in total. The Abby has four rosettes running across the body the two in the middle/top of the guinea pig are called the " saddle " rosettes. Their is then two rosettes place on the hips called the side or hip rosettes. The guinea pig then has the last two rosettes placed beside each other on the " rump ". The coat comes to a meeting point on the top of the shoulders of the guinea pig and this is called the " mane ". The coat also froms what is called a " moustache " on each side of the guinea pigs face. Each rosette has what they call a " ridge " which are the high sides that form between where each rosette stands. Many guinea pigs can be found with rosettes placed in odd positions on the body, some can have flat rosettes, some can have less rosettes in other words many guinea pigs can have the abby gene and have  very cool hairdos with their funky rosettes these guinea pigs are a cross between an abby and another breed. The true Abyssinian is described above.
