ACS found
this boy for sale in a pet shop. It is not the first time and is not
uncommon that we have found an unwell guinea pig in a pet shop. He had
severe scurvy ( vitamin c deficiency ), serious weight loss and on
returning to the shelter with him it was found that he had very bad back
teeth overgrowth and he could not eat as a result. He was taken directly
to the vet on the same day we rescued him for his back teeth to be clipped
and checked under a general anesthetic. Sadly though this boy had
complications coming out of the general due to being so weak and he passed
away within only an hour of returning to the shelter.
Help arrived to late for this guinea pig.
