Lancelot's Story

In 2005 I was out shopping. On driving home I saw a pet shop and thought I'd pop in to see if there were any guinea pigs. Their was one guinea pig in the store. Lancelot was in a small 25cm x 25cm carry cage on his own with no room to move. He had mange developing and his coat was thinning/dry and he had no hair on his tummy and two wounds on his back with smaller wounds on his body along with very overgrown filthy toenails. I asked the owner of the shop about Lancelot and he said that the two small wounds on him he was told were from another boar that had bitten him. He obviously didn't take note of the filthiness of Lancelot, his overgrown toenails or mange and Lancelot should not have been offered for sale to the public in his condition so I asked if I could buy him and was charged a measly $5.00 to take him off their hands.

After staying at ACS Brisbane shelter for a couple of months for treatment Lancelot grew a stunning new very thick coat and he bulked up to become a beautiful stocky boy. Lancelot was very scared and had an undignified look about him like he had never been respected before but after only a few months residing at the shelter his character emerged and he became a shy and docile gentleman and became very handsome. Lancelot got along well with other boars at the sanctuary and was adopted out to a new home interstate with his roommate " Jeremy ".
