A Guinea Pig Dumped on a Golf Course?

Well nothing comes as a surprise to the ACS team now days. We received a call in mid August 2007 from a member of the public stating their was a guinea pig roaming around a Golf Course. Apparently the guinea pig had been spotted several days ago as the member from the public ( also studying vet science ) stumbled across some serious rustling in the grass on her local Golf Course. Sure enough a guinea pig was spotted. With construction underway just alongside the Golf Course all the workers were instructed to take extra care until the guinea pig was caught. By using humane traps and many methods after several days finally the member from the public was able to catch the stray guinea pig. To add to the story one of the construction workers then asked if the lady could take his guinea pig as he didn't want it anymore...so the golf course guinea pig and another guinea pig ( a male and a female ) made their way to ACS. It is assumed the guinea pig had been dumped on the Golf Course.

At ACS the guinea pigs were named ' Juliet and ' Romeo '. Juliet was the guinea pig found on the golf course and since she came into the shelter she had to undergo handling as she was quite skittish. Juliet quickly came around with regular handling and gained trust in humans and has since been adopted to her new home. Romeo was a very placid boy and since being surrendered to the shelter was paired with a new friend and has also been adopted to his new home.
