BOARDING SERVICES ACS Brisbane Shelter is able to board your guinea pigs while you are away on holidays. We realize that boarding for small animals can be hard to find hence why we offer this service to small animal owners. We are able to board rats and guinea pigs. We ask that if you would like to board your guinea pig/s or rats with us that you phone the shelter at least 2 weeks prior to when you will be needing your animals minded as sometimes the shelter can be already fully booked if we are not given adequate notice.
The ACS has a boarding agreement form that is filled out and signed on the day your pets are dropped off at the shelter. This form can be viewed and read below.
Our boarding fees are very low and cover costs of fresh bedding, veggies and feed for your guinea pig/s while in our care. Our standard daily diet for the guinea pigs consists of fresh water, hay/grass, quality ACS
fresh grain mix and veggies or if your guinea pigs have a specific diet
they are used to we will comply with this. Clean appropriate bedding is changed as required. Where will my guinea pigs reside while I am away? At ACS Brisbane Shelter all guinea pigs boarding are housed indoors in our main guinea pig area which is air conditioned in summer and heated in winter. The area is lit up with lamps in the evening and the guinea pigs have their own soothing music they listen to during the daytime. The guinea pigs have their own fridge where their veggies are stored and all ACS fresh grains are stored in this area and are mixed fresh for the guinea pigs every day. The area is completely locked up by 10pm at night and then re-opened in the morning for your guinea pigs safety. Boarding guinea pig/s can have access to yummy buffalo grass in lawn playpens for grass time during some of their time while boarding at your request and free of charge.
Boarding Fees
$5.00 a day - Per two/three guinea pigs housed in ACS shelter housing. Our holiday compartments include: - Pink compartment cages ( featured in image at right ). These cages are 1.5metres in length and are 80cm deep. Inside the compartments are hidey houses for your guinea pigs and all feed related accessories and also a divider with a hole they can run through.

When your pets are dropped off for boarding you can either make payment for their stay in full or pay half on dropping off your pets and then half on return from your time away. A minimum of half payment is required upon drop off. Payment can be made in cash, by money order or cheque or if you'd like to pay in advance ACS also has an online paypal account. Sorry we don't currently accept eftpos.
