Adoption Terms Return Policy The Australian Cavy Sanctuary has a policy whereby if for any reason an adopted guinea pig needs to be re-homed that we are to receive first offer to receive the guinea pig back to the sanctuary. The adoption family will have their adoption fee fully refunded. We try to find permanent homes for the guinea pigs adopted out through the sanctuary although understand that sometimes circumstances can change and whatever the reason and whether this may occur within two weeks or two years of adoption, at any stage if the need arises where the guinea pig/s cannot be kept any longer we like and need to keep a good record on where our adoptables are residing. The Adoption Certificate When adopting a guinea pig from the Australian Cavy Sanctuary on the day of the adoption you will be asked to read and sign an adoption certificate for each guinea pig that is adopted into your home. On signing the certificate both parties ( the shelter manager and the adopter ) will both have agreed to the adoption of the chosen guinea pig/s and will have agreed to the Australian Cavy Sanctuary's Duty of Care. Pictured left is an example of what the ACS adoption certificate states and looks like. Our adoption certificate is filled out and signed in person when a guinea pig is adopted from the sanctuary. The new family will receive a copy of the certificate and so will the sanctuary to keep on record. The adoption certificate has been put in place mostly so that both parties have a means of contacting each other in the future for whatever reason if need be, and also to have on hand as a good reference.
The
adoption certificate contains the following information:
Adopted guinea pig's details.
Paragraph which states the
following: Signature of seller and buyer.
